Irish internet users accounted for 11.5pc of all international website views from the EU in the year to May 2016, followed by Spain and Poland, which contributed 9.8pc and 9.1pc of traffic respectively.
Romania and Italy rounded out the top five, followed by France, Germany, the Netherlands, Greece and Portugal.
Belgium, which ranked 11th, was the fastest-growing source of traffic over the year, jumping 74pc to account for 3.1pc of EU website views.
Greek web sessions increased by 46pc, while views from Denmark, Czech Republic and the Netherlands climbed by 21pc, 20pc and 16pc respectively.
